The past August has seen the cooperation between Cambodia and Korea through the first contract for South Korean beef to be exported to the Southeast Asian country signed in 2023 K-BEEF (HANWOO) LAUNCHING EVENT, organized on 28th Aug, 2023 in Phnom Penh – Cambodia. The event was held with the aim of promoting the export of Korean beef, targeting Cambodian export-related companies, government officials, and others.
According to the South Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Tuesday, Cambodia is the third country after Hong Kong and Malaysia. This is also the first time Hanwoo has been exported to a country in the Mekong River Basin.
"Cambodia is widely expected to achieve marked economic growth this year. South Korea will further boost cooperation with Cambodia by pushing for mutually beneficial development projects", according to Korean Minister Chung Hwang-keun (L).
The event was very successful, with the exported Hanwoo beef is designated for premium distribution channels, primarily targeting luxury hotels and high-end eateries in Cambodia.
